ගල්කාලයි, ThirdWheel එකයි
I don’t easily go to watch movies with my girlfriend. I mostly go alone because I actually want to watch the film.
Happened three months ago. A Saturday. The theater is a bit far, so I took a day off and booked three movies back-to-back. (Bullet Train, Gaadi, Antman 3).
Walking in after parking the bike, there are about 20 couples. I gathered all my strength and sat in a corner. They’re looking at me weirdly. Going to a movie alone on a Saturday afternoon in Ratnapura is apparently shocking.
Ignored the judgmental look from the ticket guy and went to the balcony. Sat in the very front row so I don’t disturb the lovers, and they don’t disturb my viewing.
Midway through the film, right when the two old guys stop at the shop before the checkpoint to take a shot, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
A guy hands me a bottle of liquor.
“Came alone?”
- Yeah machan.
“Drink this machan, it’s Gal. I came as a third wheel for a couple.”
මම ලේසියෙන් cudunona එක්ක Film එකක් බලන්න යන්නෙ නෑ. වැඩිපුරම යන්නෙ තනියම මොකද මම යන්නෙ ඇත්තටම Film එක බලන්න ඕන නිසා.
වැඩි කාලයක් නෑ මාස තුනකට කලින් මේක උනේ.
එදා සෙනසුරාදා දවසක්. Film Hall එක තියෙන්නෙ ගෙදර ඉඳන් ටිකක් දුරින් නිසා මම නිවාඩුවක් දාගත්තා Film තුනක් අල්ලලා ඔක්කොම එකපාර බලන්න.

බයික් එක දාලා ඇතුලට යනකොට ඉන්නවා කපල් 20ක් විතර. මාත් ඉතින් ඇඟේ තියෙන සියලු හයිහත්තිය අරන් බලාන ඉඳියා කොනකට වෙලා. අරුන් මං දිහා බලනව නිකන් අමුතු විදියට. මොකද රත්නපුරේ සෙනසුරාද දවල්ට තනියෙන් Film එකක් බලන්න යන එක පුදුම වෙන්න කාරනාවක්නොවැ.
ටිකට් කඩන මෑන්ස්ගෙ කැම්රි බැල්මත් ඉවසගෙන මම බැල්කනි එකට නැග්ගා. එතනත් ඉස්සරහම පේලියෙන් ගිහින් ඉඳගත්තා පෙම්වතුන්ටත් බාදාවක් නොවී මගෙ රසවින්දනයටත් බාදාවක් නොවෙන්න.
Film එකේ අතරමග අර චෙක්පොයින්ට් එකට කලින් කඩෙන් නවත්තලා වයසක උන්දලා දෙන්නා ෂොට් එකක් දාන වෙලාවේ. මගෙ පිටට තට්ටුවක් දානව වගේ දැනුනා.
