Soundcore Liberty Neo: User Review

Hello everyone! 🙂 How’s it going after a while?

After a friend tried testing the physical durability of my Mpow Flame and broke it, I was forced to hunt for a replacement headset.
While shopping, I had to evaluate quite a few options. Since sound quality was my top priority, I selected several models regardless of form factor.

Here are the finalists and why I dropped them:

1. KZ ZSX Terminator 12-driver (My phone couldn’t drive enough power into it)
2. Soundcore Life 2 (Heard reports of poor sound balance)
3. Soundcore Spirit X (Stock ran out right during the sale)
4. Mpow D9 (Didn’t like the dedicated mic boom)
5. Mpow H10 (Just didn’t feel drawn to it)

Here is my honest experience…
I’ve never owned expensive audiophile headsets 😪 so I’m evaluating this based on budget earphone experience.

(Q) How are the Bass, Mids, and Highs?

• Bass is surprisingly deep and drops low… meaning it doesn’t sound bloated or muddy thanks to BassUp technology.
• Mids feel optimized for clean vocals 👀—very clear.
• Highs are solid with no piercing harshness 😪. It features a custom-tuned graphene driver.

(Q) How is the detail resolution?

• Supports AAC codec playback, so listening to 320kbps tracks reveals incredible micro-details down to subtle background tones.

(Q) How is the microphone quality?

• Didn’t stress-test it extensively, but sounds slightly sub-par… though it includes environmental noise suppression.

(Q) Does it hurt your ears?

• You need to swap to the eartip sleeve size that matches your ear canal… The first insertion definitely feels uncomfortable 😐 (though if you’re used to in-ear monitors, it’s fine).

(Q) Does it fall out during daily use?

• Depends on ear anatomy, but if you pick the right sleeve and ear-wing jacket size, it stays firmly locked in.

(Q) Does it feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)?

• Nope! Even high-end Galaxy Buds lacked full ANC back then, so don’t expect it here. However, passive noise isolation is great—enough to block out your mom yelling from the living room into your room!

(Q) How is the day-to-day user experience?

• The compact charging case is tiny and hassle-free.
  Earbuds auto-pair the second you remove them from the case, maintaining solid connectivity up to 10 meters.
  However, the physical tactile push-buttons are an absolute pain to press into your ear canal—touch controls are far superior.

(Q) How is the battery life?

• Delivers around 3.5 hours on a single charge, plus 12 hours total with the case. Case recharges fully in about 2.5 hours.

(Q) Should you buy it or skip it?

• If you primarily listen to music while commuting on the bus or relaxing at home, it’s 100% worth every single rupee.

(Q) How much did you pay for it?

• Snagged it for Rs. 5,300 during the 11.11 sale!

Bonus Note:
I also ordered the Mpow Flame 2 alongside this. Unlike the bass-heavy original, the Flame 2 balances frequency response and design much better.
